I admit I was touched. It was a small, gentle film about how the right kind of family and community help a broken boy-man start to become an adult and possibly whole.
Maybe because I am a Nat King Cole fan, I especially loved this scene (Genevieve, don't look)
I also admit that I had only seen crap or schmaltzy Ryan Gosling films on long transatlantic flights or 14 hour bus rides across Argentina, but I always liked him.

I tried to get KJ to come see this movie with me, but he said it sounded creepy. ; )
You have to be in the right mood and really really willing to suspend your disbelief - big time. It is more fairy tale than anything else.
I'm curious what you would think of it.
We saw it last night. I liked it, but not as much as Yellow Sky. Not that Lars... is at all similiar to a black & white western filmed in Lone Pine. Maybe I liked Yellow Sky more because Tom wasn't complaining the whole time about how unrealistic it was. Tom ruins the best films.
